Muft Bijli Yojana

The PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is a national initiative approved by the Government of India to accelerate residential rooftop solar adoption and empower households to generate their own clean energy. With an outlay of about ₹75,021 crore, the scheme aims to install solar power systems on one crore homes and provide up to 300 units of free electricity every month by harnessing solar energy. It offers substantial central financial assistance—covering a significant share of system costs through subsidies—and facilitates easy installation via an online national portal, enabling families to reduce electricity bills, earn from surplus power, and contribute to sustainable and decentralized energy generation across the country
